LIPKITS:

We all know the "it" makeup product right now is the Kylie Jenner Lipkits. They are almost impossible to get as they sell out in minutes. I some how happened to recieve all six new colors! Each Lipkit comes with a liquid lipstick and a lip liner. Each lipkit is $29.99 without shipping and handling. When the liquid lipstick is applied, it dries to a matte finish. The lipsticks also have a vanilla cupcake scent. All of the colors look different on each skin tone. The three first original colors are named, Candy K, Dolce K, and True Brown K. Each kit has a specific reason for their name.

ORIGINAL COLLECTION:

First is Candy K, it was named after Kylie's nickname when she was younger, "Candy." The color on my skin is a more medium to darker pink skin tone. The lip liner is honestly not very pigmented and doesn't show up well. The lipstick is very pigmented and creamy. It glides on very well and dries longer with the more product you apply. You don't need much product to get a good look. Second is Dolce K, this lipkit was named after her childhood dog, Dolce. This color is a mixture of a medium skin tone and a light brown. The lip liner on this kit doesn't show up well either. the lipstick is smooth and dries depending on how much product is applied. I personally for my skin tone, don't find it most attractive on myself. The third original color is named, True Brown K. This lipkit is named behind her makeup artisit who brought out a brown lip one day. It inspired for a true brown color with no red or orange hints to it. I personally love this color and I didn't think I would. The lip liner is excellent and very well pigmented. it glides on well and very little product is needed. The lipstick is also super pigmented and hardly and product is needed.

VALENTINE'S DAY COLLECTION:

These next three colors were released as a Valentine's Days collection. Kylie announced to her fans that these new colors and the originial three colors came with a new formula that was lighter and dries faster than the first three colors. The Valentine's Day colors are named, Koko K, Posie K, and Mary Jo K. Her formulas really did improve and so did her shipping and handling. The first three colors took about three weeks to ship and this collection only took a week. The formulas actually are different and better than the first three but I really don't have a lot to complain about them because they are pigmented so well.

The first color is Koko K, and it was named after her older sister Khloe (Her nickname is Koko.) This color is actually my favorite out of all six colors. it is a very light pink skin tone and just gives a beautiful finish. I mainly wear it everyday because I always perfer a light pink and skin tone color. The lip liner I am still having troubles with. It still is not pigmented very well and that is something I personally think she needs to change. It instantly dries and I love it! The second color is named Posie K, which was actually named by a lucky fan. She needed a name and had her fans comment on her instagram feed and Kylie chose her personal favorite. I love this color, on my skin tone, it is a very beautiful medium toned pink. The lip liner is better but still needs more pigment. The third color is Mary Jo K, and it is named after her grandmother Mary Jo or "MJ". I absolutely love this red color. the lip liner is great and so is the pigment. It truely is the perfect red color and I personally think this color can look great on everyone. I never wear red lipstick but this color is one I'm not affraid to wear.

APPLICATION TIPS:

I would also like to share some tips with you all about applying the lipkits. Honestly, I hardly use the lip liners, but if I do I reccomend using a liner you already have that you love. I have a MAC lip liner that work amazing with Koko, Candy, and Dolce K. If you have a pink/nude lip liner it should work great! I also prep my lips before applying the liquid lipsticks. I use a lip scrub from LUSH, and make sure there is no dead skin on my lips prior to appliciation. With a matte lipstick the dryness of your lips can give the final look a crusty feel and can dry out your lips even more. After the scrub I put on a lip balm with a touch of gloss to prep, then I work on my face makeup while my lips absorb the moisture. The final touch is to apply your lip liner to avoid any lipstick bleeding. Apply your lipkit to your bottom pout first. Keep in mind a little does go a long way, and the more product you put on the longer it takes to dry. A light amount to each sides of your top lip and perfect any missed spots. Let the product dry and you're good to go! Another thing I love about the kits is that they don't smear onto your water bottles or glasses and it doesn't get all over your food. They tend to last all day but for me I try to reapply every few hours just to keep it fresh! Taking off the kits sometimes are easy and sometimes hard. I haven't had much to complain about with them though, for me they glide off easy. For the darker and more pigmented colors they sometimes tend to be more difficult, but I can understand why because of the statement color!

PURCHASING TIPS:

People always ask me how I was able to get all six lipkit colors, so I thought I would share some secrets I used to keep up on the lipkit updates! First thing is obviously make sure you follow Kylie on all of her social media sites. I follow her on, Facebook, her personal Instagram and her cosmetics account. (I don't have a twitter but I am assuming that she posts updates there too!) If you want to go to the extreme to keep up with her updates like I do, you can get notifications on when she makes a post! simply go to her cosmetics account, and look to the top right where the three dots are in the blue section, click on that icon and you will see a notification button, you click that tab and it will then give you a notification of every time she posts. Another way I keep up is to always have my safari tab open to her cosmetics website, so you then have her page up and ready to go! You can see how extreme these tips are, but they are the reason as to how I recieved all six lipkits!

Overall, the Kylie Lipkits do own up to her name. The lip liners could use some work but I really have fallen in love with these lipkits. Another thing I think that needs work is restocking more efficiently so all her fans have a chance to experience her line. Her website was also recently changed from kylielipkits.com to kyliecosmetics.com. It has been said by King Kylie herself she is working on launching a whole cosmetics line. By the way she has started with successful lip colors, I hope I can get my hands on all her cosmetics. She has recently posted a new possible lipkit shade, it seems to be a blood orange shade that has that very orange hue to it. If you want my overall opinion, I suggest buying at least one of the lipkits to just try it out so you can choose if you want to spend the money on them! I really hope this helped you all and if you have any questions feel free to contact me!
